Description:

The National Institute on Aging (NIA), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is recruiting for a postdoctoral position in the Neuroplasticity and Behavior Unit (NBU), Laboratory of Neurosciences (LNS) in the Intramural Research Program (IRP) at the NIA. The postdoctoral position is available to study neural circuits important for learning and memory. Areas of investigation include the role of exercise, dietary supplementation and adult neurogenesis in memory function. The candidate for this position should have experience in one or more of the following fields of research: electrophysiology (patch-clamp in brain slices), imaging, behavior.

Requirements:

The candidate must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience. Candidates with a strong work ethic and excellent written and presentation skills are encouraged to apply. The NIA IRP offers an outstanding training environment.

Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
