| A Postdoctoral position is available immediately for an
NIH-funded project that will study the processing of color
information in primate cortex. The project is under the
direction of Youping Xiao, Ph.D., at the Mount Sinai School
of Medicine, New York, New York. The position is available
for four years.
We employ a multidisciplinary approach, including optical
imaging, 64-channel electrode recording, neuroanatomy,
advanced statistical analysis, and modeling. Our current
research focuses on the population-based representation of
color or other information, neural substrates of color
perception, and functional connectivity between neurons. We
will continue our close collaboration with colleagues within
the institution, including Dr. Ehud Kaplan, and those at
Watson Research Center, IBM. The research environment at the
Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the IBM provides many
opportunities for developing a broader knowledge of vision
research and computational neuroscience, with access to
state-of-the-art computational facilities. Click
