The program will provide an up to date introduction to pharmacogenomics and personalised medicine in psychiatry for general psychiatrists as well as an opportunity to exchange the latest data for specialists and researchers in the area. Because of the intense interest of the pharmaceutical industry in prediction of response to psychotropic drugs and the critical importance of adverse event prediction, we expect that the Thematic Meeting will be the focus of several critical industry related events. Ethical, economic, social and legal aspects will be considered as well the implementation of personalised medicine in clinical practice.
Development of the conference program will be overseen by a strong international scientific committee and a representative local organising committee. An international call for symposium proposals will be issued and for thematic poster presentations that will be a key forum for presenting the latest data in the field.
The opportunity to visit the numerous sites in Jerusalem of religious and historical significance to so many different religions and traditions is a major plus for all our thematic meeting attendees. The psychopharmacology and psychiatric genetics research community in Israel looks forward to hosting our friends and colleagues in the unique city of Jerusalem for this exciting event.
