Abstract
This is a very thought provoking study. The authors suggest that parental separation and loss are acting as risk indicators for a range of other yet-to-be-identified adverse exposures. Animal models may help us parse out which types of stress, during which critical windows, and against which genetic backgrounds, are most disruptive to brain development/function.
