I was born In Kermabshah /Iran.I studied there till 18 when I accepted in TTU (Tarbiat Molam University) in Bs (Molecular cell biology).2000 to 2004 I got my degree in that University and then accepted in TMU (Tarbiat Modares University )in Ms Degree of Molecuar genetics ,Faculty of Basic Sciences. (www.modraes.ac.ir)
I am student of molecular genetics in TMU university now and working on my thesis about schizophrenia.
What are the top three papers (not yours) you have read recently?
1.Molecular genetic studies of schizophrenia.
Eur J Hum Genet. 2006 Jun;14(6):669-80. Review.
2.Schizophrenia genes, gene expression, and neuropathology: on the matter of their convergence. Mol Psychiatry. 2005 Apr;10(4):420. Harrison PJ, Weinberger DR.
3.Neuregulin 1 transcripts are differentially expressed in schizophrenia and regulated by 5' SNPs associated with the disease.
Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2006 Apr 25;103(17):6747-52. Epub 2006 Apr 17
If resources were not limited, what research projects would you pursue?
1.global gene expression and snp analysis of schizophrenic patients
2.producing animal model for all candidate genes of schizophrenia
3.consideration of the effects of Medication on candidate gene expression
What is your leading hypothesis?
common disease_common variant
What piece of missing evidence would help prove it?
now I am doing a research for finding the association of schizophrenia with NRG1 in Lor population of southern part of Iran as It is my thesis.
